The mission of The Luminaires Founder Chapter is to support Doheny Eye Institute through fundraising and volunteer participation to meet its commitment to those afflicted with eye problems.
Community leader and humanitarian, Mary L. Crary, continued the legacy of Carrie Estelle Doheny by founding The Luminaires in 1975. For over 50 years, The Luminaires Founder Chapter has been responsible for raising more than $8.5 million dollars for Doheny Eye Institute. Today, The Luminaires continue to play a key role in raising community awareness of Doheny Eye Institute while supporting the Institute’s rise locally and globally as a leader in vision research.
